Multi Camera Job role

Camera operator

Duties

  • The duties that a camera operator is having relationship with the crew, such as the director, sound recorder , lighting desk , presenter and the interviewees, as they have to work with these employees. They also have the responsibility to assemble, prepare and set up the equipment for the filming of the show as these equipment may include tripods, monitors, lighting, cable, headphone and leads
  • Other duties that a camera operator should have is the responsibility to repairing and maintaining equipment , this is because there will be using the camera all the ti me and the camera has to be in working order for the show because they are responsible for the camera.
  • Camera operator have the duties to be being prepared and working quickly, especially with the timing  because you have a limited amount of time when on air as this is an important factor for television as it my effect the next program on.

Skills

  • The skills that a camera operator should have for this job is the ability to complete a camera movement correctly with the additional skills to frame and construct the camera properly, because they have the responsibility to denote the shoot from a live or as live production.
  • Camera Operator should also have the skills to sound imaginative, practical and have technical knowledge of camera, this is because they are in charge of a camera and are responsible of how it looks to the audience, and also show there image to the director.
  • They should also have the skills to have team working skills and have the ability to lead and motivate other, this is because they tell the presenter where to stand and where to look as the motivation help the presenter be more of a likable person on camera.

Sound Mixing

Duties


  • The duties for sound mixing is having the knowledge of audio equipment and sound technology, because there will be more with software and hardware that is based around the sound of the show, as they will need to know how to use it effectively and have to responsibility to look after the equipment.
  • The duties that the sound mixer should have is the knowledge of management and licensing of radio transmission system, this is a part of equipment  because they will need to have an license with radio transmission as they are responsible for it.
  • Another duties that a sound mixer should have is the responsibility to know the sound requirement for each production, aster will need to know what equipment they will need to use in specific location.

Skills

  • The skills that a sound mixer should have is excellent balancing skills, agility and a good sense of timing that, as this is because there are recording the sound live or as live live, with means they should have to ability to balance the sound of the presenter and the interviewees in a short period of time. 
  • A sound mixer must also have the skills to be think creatively to solve problems created by practical location of situation, for example when filming out side there may be a lot of wind and the sound mixer must have an idea of how to resolve

Vision Mixing

  • The duties that a vision mixer has is that they have the responsibility to edit and imply the source that would be added into the broadcasting of the program.

  • Another skills that a vision mixer must have is the ability to have excellent colour vision  this is because the colour grading would have to match the show to have flow look to the program. 
  • A vision mixer must have the skill to musical score or bar count. Because they are responsible of making the source and the archive footage of the source match the eq of the show air on TV.

Duties

  • The duties that the director must do is pay precise attention to detail from the employer that he/she has for the show, because there will need to know what has been done and what they may want to change about of what has been done.

Set Designer


Duties


  • The duties that a set designer has is to present ideas to other involved in the production, such as the presenter and the camera operate, it is to bring out the meaning and the layout of the design and to keep the other employees safe.
  • Another duty that a set designer has is hiring and managing an art department, becuase the production of the TV may be big as there would have to hire out the best in the industry and manager the design that has been built.
  • Set design duties is to instruct and guide of the process of the set construction, because they have to monitor is the build of the set is going to what has been expected and approved by the director.

  • The skills that a set design should have is to cumulate through technical drawing and model, as there have to present to the floor manger and the director they ides of the production design and how it would be laid out.

Lighting Desk


Duties


  • The duties that a lighting desk must do is to keep in check of the focusing of the lighting , as this may be because the change of the light may effect they aesthetic of the show which may look back when broadcasting the show.
  • Another duty that a lighting desk has is to operate and maintain the equipment during the production, as the lighting is been put on responsible on the lighting desk, as they have to monitor is they is any faulty lighting before any production.

Skills

  • excellent colour vision, this is because they will need to know what colour they would have to use on the presenter to make them look better on screen, as they will need to to have clean eye to work with this area.
  • Another skills that a lighting desk must have is good technical knowledge as this is because they will be working with software and hardware which is technique and need to have the knowledge of how to use it in the production
  • Lighting desk must have good level of physical fitness this is because they will need to carry around heavy light and hardware around the studio quick in order have enough time to set up for the live broadcast.

Floor Manger

Duties

  • The floor manger duties in the TV work place is keeping the director and the producer informed of action off camera, what this means is to tell the director of what is going on and telling the director if his visual is complete for the shows and to inform of what is going on to produces the show.
  • There also have the duties is to deal with any technical problem, why this is that they are placed in the studio and have responsibility to take lead when somethings goes wrong in the studio.
  • The floor manager also has the responsibilities on find guest that could be placed on the shows as there are in charge of the guest location in the shows and in charge of booking them into the show.

Skills

  • They must have the skill to multi task and have organisational skills this is because that have to take care of different segment within the studio, such as there are in control of the guest, set,designer,camera operate and presenter , as there guide all of this employees at once because there is a minimal time of the shoe to be aired.
  • They also should have the skill to work under pressure, and should inculcated the skills to solve and avoid problem when working under pressure , because they need to fit in a lot of work in a short period of time.
  • Floor manager should also have excellent communication, receiving and convey information skills, because they have they have the responsibility to respond back to the director and also to gather other information for the director that could be useful to them and also listen to the director with guides.

Graphics generation

  • The duties that a graphic generator must do is to produce an high quality of work, this is because the director want to present the show in a professional standers as the high quality would allow this to be brought across.

  • The skills that a graphic generator must have is the is to be passional about they work and be enthusiastic about the design, as they have to be skills on being interested in the work they that have produced for the director even is they don't link it they would be skills to find good points about the design.
  • Another skills that a graphic generator must have is the skills to pay attention to detail they they director may want on the finalised design, this is because as this would be a make or break of show and may make the show look aesthetic pleasing or not.
  • Graphic generator much have the skills to be open to criticism and be willing to make changing to they design, as they will need to be skills on taking criticism and sucking it up and be told of what to be changed.

VT Operator

Duties


  • The duties that a VT operator has is that they they would have to responsibility to make copies of the shows, as this late may be re show in the future as they must be a copy to show that they was a show made and also could allow the show to be embed online.
  • Another duty that a VT operator must do is to maintain equipment and to repair it, as they are responsible for the equipment because they are labeled to the job and hardware, they must be able to fix problem with the hardware.
  • VT operator are also has the duty to work with the graphic generator, sound mixer , vision mixer and the director in the gallery , because they have to communicate to each other to make each other work more effency.

Skills


  • VT operator must have advance analytic skills as there will be working with multi button that are organised and they would need to know how to make the transition of the show more interesting through they roles as a VT operator.
  • The skills that the VT operator would have is that they should have good problem solving skills, this could be seen in a situations of what the showing being broadcaster as something goes wrong that my have an idea of how to change the
  • The VT Operator must also have advance IT skills because the TV industry use computer to produce they show, as the whole industry is revolved around IT , which means they must has skills how how to use and control they IT programme.

Presenter

Duties

  • The Duties when the presenter are broadcasting is to keep in contact with the director and production them in the gallery through the ear piece , this is  to communicate through a blank wall which means follow instruction verbally
  • They also have the duties to writing and sometimes memories script, they also have the responsibility to rehears (depended on the broadcasting) the script in front of a camera before the show goes live or as live.
  • Presenter also have the duties to research information and background information about what topic will be presented on the show and also who will be interviewed on the program, this also them to understand the topic more and look more confident when in front of the camera.

Skills

  • The skills that a TV presenter must have is that they should have a clear and confident speech when broadcasting, this is because they should be understood by the viewer, and also have good presentation skills and have the confident with speaking and have the ability to sell yourself to the audience.
  • The presenter should also have skills have oral  communication, in situation such as an interviewer.This is also implied with the listen skills because they have to listen and response naturally 
  • The Presenter should also have the skills to generate original idea with presenting, to keep the audience engaging , and not to keep it cliche with presenting on broadcast television.
